ANDALUSIAN MUSIC ACADEMY
Location: Acre (IL)
Type: Cultural Center
Year: 2019
Client: The City of Acre
Partners: Lothan Architects
Prizes and Recognition: 3rd Prize

Description: The design for the Andalusian Music Academy in Acre reinterprets the traditional courtyard building in a contemporary form. At its heart, an internal core is created around a central courtyard, functioning as both the organizational anchor of the academy and an inviting meeting space. This open center encourages interaction among students, teachers, and visitors, while connecting the academy’s cultural role with the city’s vibrant social life. The composition of enclosed volumes and open space fosters a sense of community, offering a modern setting that resonates with Acre’s architectural heritage.
