REYNOSA - ARID URBAN LANDSCAPES
Location: Reynosa (MX)
Type: Urban Design
Year: 2024-2025
Client: The City of Reynosa
Partners: David Ramirez Infante, Water Engineering

Description: The project’s focal point is the restoration of Reynosa’s neglected urban areas through a holistic approach that tackles the city’s interrelated problems concurrently. Departing from conventional large-scale interventions that often address technical, spatial, and social issues separately, this initiative seeks to reclaim abandoned spaces and transform them into vibrant communal green areas that serve to foster social engagement as much as they serve to address the city’s water-related challenges. By harnessing small-scale urban interventions, the project aims to create inviting public spaces capable of detaining, storing, filtering, and draining excess runoff, thereby mitigating both flooding and drought issues.
