Description: As part of the broader vision for Nahariya, we led the preparation of a strategic policy document that redefines the city’s entrance and transforms its current challenges into opportunities for growth. At the junction with Road #4, today a physical and perceptual barrier, the plan proposes a bold reconfiguration that turns the threshold into an active, welcoming urban gateway. New mixed-use buildings at this key node create a lively urban edge, combining housing, commerce, and services, while framing high-quality public spaces. The relocation of the central bus and train stations further strengthens this hub, ensuring seamless regional connectivity and anchoring new development. Central to the strategy is the creation of a continuous west–east linear park, following the route of the Gaaton River. This intervention re-centers the river as Nahariya’s defining urban element, stitching together the city’s fragmented halves while expanding its ecological and social infrastructure. Together, these interventions establish the entrance to Nahariya as both a point of arrival and a civic landmark—transforming it from a barrier into a connector that supports mobility, sustainability, and urban vitality.
